SUSSEX COUNTY Sussex County Delaware is made up of rural and coastal resort communities. It is only a two hour drive from Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia. The rural part of Sussex County is made up of small towns and farmland. If you like small town living, or just want some acreage with very few neighbors, we have it. On the other hand, if you like the sun and fun of the beach area, we have that too. The coastal area has beautiful sandy beaches, all types of restaurants, shops and outlet centers. Delaware is also known for Tax FREE Shopping! Yes, Delaware has NO sales tax! If the beach is not your thing, Sussex County also has Dover Downs nearby where you can watch NASCAR Racing. For a little night life entertainment, there are two casinos, one in Dover and the other in Harrington. Sussex County has lots of private and public golf courses for the amateurs and the pros.
